tryptophan, an essential amino acid found in turkey isn’t the reason you are tired after your Thanksgiving feast. There isn’t enough tryptophan in a serving or two (or even three)of turkey. As a matter of fact there is more of the amino acid in a similar sized serving of chicken. Sure, On Thanksgiving Day, most folks expect to be tired after eating turkey, But the holiday bird actually isn’t to blame. The reason you can’t do anything but lay around watching football or even taking a nap is simply because you probably overate. Most people eat more calories at Thanksgiving dinner than they usually do spread out over an entire day.
